RHT Lifting Equipment Joins The Falcon Group
Falcon Group is pleased to confirm the acquisition of Robert Harwood Trading (East Anglia) Ltd,
trading as RHT Lifting Equipment, bringing together two established businesses within the UK
lifting and construction equipment sectors.
Founded in 2006, RHT Lifting Equipment has developed a strong reputation as a specialist
supplier of lifting equipment, material handling products and associated equipment to
customers predominantly throughout the UK, as well as across the globe.
The business has built an established and loyal customer base over the past two decades, with
approximately 9,000 customers and a particularly high level of repeat business.
As part of the acquisition, existing Directors Michelle Harwood and Hannah Smith will remain
with the business and play a key role in the company’s continued expansion. Importantly, the
business will continue to operate under its established name and identity, RHT Lifting Equipment.
The focus will be on building upon the strengths that have made the company successful, while
expanding its product offering, further developing its online presence and providing customers
with access to an increasingly comprehensive range of lifting and material handling equipment.
The acquisition represents an important step in Falcon Group’s wider strategy to diversify and
expand its activities within the lifting equipment sector, while providing RHT with the resources
and industry relationships to support its next stage of growth.
Falcon’s lifting gear division and established manufacturer relationships, together with RHT’s
existing manufacturer relationships, have been brought together within the new group company,
providing greater manufacturer access, an expanded product portfolio and increased purchasing
capability.
Steve Gray, General Manager of Falcon Group, said:
“RHT Lifting Equipment is a very well-established business with an excellent reputation, a loyal
customer base and vast potential for further growth, especially alongside the Falcon Group.
Our intention is not to change what has made the business successful, but to build on those
foundations. By combining the knowledge, experience and customer relationships already
established within the business with additional resources, manufacturer relationships and wider
industry experience, we believe there is a significant opportunity to grow the business over the
coming years while maintaining the service and relationships that have been central to its
success.
For customers, the key message is continuity. The business will remain one they know and trust,
with the added benefit of greater resources, broader manufacturer relationships and access to
an even wider range of products.”
The acquisition forms part of the Group’s continued investment in complementary areas of the
lifting and construction equipment industry.
Falcon has traditionally been best known for its tower crane operations, but in recent years it has
continued to broaden its activities across freight, power generation, lift management, training,
industrial painting and fabrication. The addition of the business provides another platform for
growth and further strengthens the Group’s presence within the UK lifting equipment market.
Steve Gray added:
“This is a long-term investment for the Group, with Michelle and Hannah continuing as Directors
and bringing their extensive knowledge and experience to the business. Building on its more than
twenty-year history, we see a strong opportunity to develop the business further and build on its
success for the next twenty years and beyond.
