Description: Grade 8 alloy steel coupling link, comprising 2 x half-links, load pin
and stainless steel locking spring. Hardened & tempered
Manufacturing Standard: BS EN 1677-1
Finish: Sherardize corrosion protection (Zinc based)
The Sherardized coating provides long term corrosion protection due to the continuous and
unbroken sacrificial zinc alloy layer. Normal process thickness is in the range of 15-80 μm .
Purpose: The component is designed for use with 16mm grade 8 alloy steel chain
used to join chain-to-chain, chain to other components, or components to
components of suitably matching dimensions, grades and Working Load Limits.
Working Load Limit: 8.0 tonnes
Minimum Breaking Load: 32.0 tonnes
Factor of Safety for lifting purposes: 4:1
